The Little Press

Real Weddings

Real Weddings, TLP Custom DesignEmily Shingleton

It was such a joy to work with natural beauty and down-to-earth Courtney to dream up stationery for her wedding over meetings in the studio. Planning a wedding which was both relaxed and opulent, rustic and decadent, these elements came together beautifully on the day, at the stunning location of Empire retreat in Yallingup.

Here are some sweet words from Courtney about working with us, for her interview for The Lane
" We used The Little Press for all the stationary. I fell in love with their simple, understated, handwritten designs, and love the use of letterpress in the printing process. I worked with the talented Emily to create a custom flower illustration and handwritten text ‘lock up’ for our names, that we used across the entire suite, which included the invitation, RSVP with hand drawn map on the back and thank you card. The names were handwritten on the back of circle menus that were put on the plates for each guest. Emily also created the most amazing wedding book – letterpress printed with custom hand lettering, then hand bound with Western Australian bees wax thread and vegetable tanned leather. It was finished with 100% cotton pages inside for guests to sign their well wishes. "

Bohemian Dreams, Real Weddings, SemiCustom CollectionEmily Shingleton

Sian fell in love with our MEHENDI design - perfect for her minimal, luxe bohemian wedding day.

A beautiful mood board created by the bride featured rich tones, natural textures and styling which used the raw beauty of the architecture and natural environment. The location overlooking the rolling hills is such a beautiful blank canvas, not requiring much more for the ceremony set up than the arbor, some benches and amazing blooms.

The invitation suite was also beautifully understated, with a single invitation peice, featuring a custom website for the couple to handle all the formalities of RSVP, gift notes and info about the area.

The invitations have a raw elegance from the handmade cotton paper, minimal typography and little bohemian accent, paired with chic black envelopes and white ink printed addresses.

Thank you cards were digitally printed, a nice little follow up to carry through the design, and keeping things minimal.

we love the tones and textures in this stunning many considered details, calling on the beauty of the environment with a relaxed, but luxe feel.

Congrats Sian+ Brenden! 💕

Featured on PolkaDot Bride, Felicity and Jake's wedding was equal parts elegant and intimate, focusing on keeping things simplified but refined allowing everyone to focus on celebrating the story and the romance of the newlyweds.

Set in the beautiful South West of WA, the Margret river region is a popular destination for our Perth brides. We love the shots amongst the tall eucalyptus trees - reminiscent of our camping trips under the stars - completely elegant with the stunning, luxe dresses and suits. Wearing one of our favourite brands of bohemian wedding dresses, this wedding is the epitome of a Margret River wedding with all the right hints to luxe bohemian detail.

We love when our clients choose a winery for their wedding - it means that the wording on the invitation is simplified, as there is no need to write to different venues. This is perfect for an invitation with hand lettering, which needs a little more room than a modern type font would take up. There are other cool things about winery weddings too - beautiful setting, no driving between ceremony and reception, and you can have a bottle of wine from the land you were married on to drink at special occasions - or on the couch together in your slippers, at any time in your wedded bliss. :)

The invitations suite included a hand drawn map showing the location for the wedding and a few key land marks. Felicity says "We felt that the invite would set the tone for the wedding so we wanted something personal and hand made.”

Nadia planned her Tuscan wedding from the other side of the world in sunny Perth. Dreamy green hills, age old buildings and landscape full of history and culture - the land of the couple's heritage. We spotted this featured on The Lane recently.

It was so exciting to see natural beauty Jaemi and her beau Chad in the latest issue of Hello May's Real Wedding Special. We worked with this beautiful sunny couple a few years ago, when we took our meetings away from our "little" studio in cafes, and we chatted about ideas, travels and plans over chai tea.

Jaemi had plans for for her stunning dress and loved the way the lace detail fell like stars over the shoulders, and this inspired the custom design created for her stationery. We letterpressed in a hand-mixed marigold yellow, inspired by Billy Bob's which she planned for the florals. The couple loved the way our hand lettering gave the invitations a casual, personal touch, so along with the delicate pattern, we focused on carying through their story through the lettering. Also, love the wording for this design written by the couple; "come and join the celebration as best friends become Husband and Wife".

To keep the wedding suite within budget, we digitally printed the map & info card, along with the RSVP postcard. We work with our local printers to find the best match for our cotton papers, so the digital mix&match is as seamless as possible, and remains a great budget option that we offer.

We've collected some images from the Hello May pages, the stunning photos from photographerJames Simmons, as well as our styled shoots from the studio taken by Chantelle Malone creative to share with you here. How amazing is the styling! ...all DIY by Jaemi - clearly a natural talent, she now offers styling services to brides how may not be so savvy with chalk art, table settings and more!

Such a sweet couple full of smiles and happiness - we still love this design so much - a great example of a beautiful custom design within a petite budget!
