The Little Press

Styled Shoots'Emily Shingleton

We have been part of The Lane's impressive collection of hand picked brands since 2014. The luxe bohemian style of The Lane fits so perfectly with our style, and we love the way their team of writers captures the spirit of our work in such beautiful words....

"We particularly love the hand penned mix of bohemian motifs with free spirited new wave calligraphy. Brought to life in tactile papery impressions, their aesthetic is a perfect match for brides with an affinity for the natural world, or gypsy like inspirations!

Other designs blend hand drawn illustrations of native flowers in a spectrum of saturated colours, while the Navajo and nomadic motifs make the perfect prelude to a bohemian wedding!  Printed onto sheets of cottony paper fed through a giant vintage press, the creations are so beautifully tactile they cannot be fully appreciated until touched!

Being a bespoke service, the invitations created by The Little Press will perfectly reflect you and your wedding theme, setting imaginations racing for all lucky recipients!

Based in Western Australia with orders available worldwide, find The Little Press in The LANE Directory, or head to their website to enquire about your own uniquely bespoke stationery designs."

Styled and photographed by The Lane, with blush florals, rose quartz crystals and silver antiques.

For our second Brush Lettering Workshop, we got in touch with a beautiful creative friend that we've known since the early days of The Little Press. Chantelle is a talented designer, with a delicate bohemian style full of warm earthy colours and natural textures. Her styling for the workshop include a stunning wall hanging with handmade cotton tassells, wild foliage for the table, and a hand block printed table runner made from recycled paper and our indian hand carved wooden blocks in gold ink. We love the moody vibes from these shots!

It was dark and gloomy on the day of this planned styled shoot... so under the shelter of two large tipis, a wintery bohemian dream was created.

Featuring Persian rugs, candles, rich warm floral hues and natural textures. A dream team of Perth Wedding vendors came together to sprinkle their magic into the mix. Featuring our Aquarius invitation suite in super light greys, watercolour hand lettering on the envelopes, with Pretty Willow's collection of crystals.

Nadia planned her Tuscan wedding from the other side of the world in sunny Perth. Dreamy green hills, age old buildings and landscape full of history and culture - the land of the couple's heritage. We spotted this featured on The Lane recently.

It was so exciting to see natural beauty Jaemi and her beau Chad in the latest issue of Hello May's Real Wedding Special. We worked with this beautiful sunny couple a few years ago, when we took our meetings away from our "little" studio in cafes, and we chatted about ideas, travels and plans over chai tea.

Jaemi had plans for for her stunning dress and loved the way the lace detail fell like stars over the shoulders, and this inspired the custom design created for her stationery. We letterpressed in a hand-mixed marigold yellow, inspired by Billy Bob's which she planned for the florals. The couple loved the way our hand lettering gave the invitations a casual, personal touch, so along with the delicate pattern, we focused on carying through their story through the lettering. Also, love the wording for this design written by the couple; "come and join the celebration as best friends become Husband and Wife".

To keep the wedding suite within budget, we digitally printed the map & info card, along with the RSVP postcard. We work with our local printers to find the best match for our cotton papers, so the digital mix&match is as seamless as possible, and remains a great budget option that we offer.

We've collected some images from the Hello May pages, the stunning photos from photographerJames Simmons, as well as our styled shoots from the studio taken by Chantelle Malone creative to share with you here. How amazing is the styling! ...all DIY by Jaemi - clearly a natural talent, she now offers styling services to brides how may not be so savvy with chalk art, table settings and more!

Such a sweet couple full of smiles and happiness - we still love this design so much - a great example of a beautiful custom design within a petite budget!

We gathered friends and new friends for a beautiful evening under the festoon lights for a pre-christmas night market - such a magical night!

Having a market was one of the ideas we had when we moved into our warehouse studio space in West Perth. The little idea bubbled into a big market, full of local perth artisans with their amazing stalls of quality, handmade wares.

With food vans outside, and over 14 market stalls inside, there were lots of options for the good folk who came by. Perth-made artisan soap, candles, florals, photography, hanging plants, hand printed art and homewares, small batch leather goods, jewellery and lingerie, mexican icey treats, coffee and homemade pies ...

It was so much fun - we're dreaming up a winter market perhaps, with chai mulled wine?! If you're in Perth and you don't want to miss out on any future intimate, small scale, small batch, artisan, handmade markets - sign up to our mailing list so you're the first to hear about it!

A huge thank you to Kirsty Russell photography for capturing these amazing images. See the credits below for direct links to our friend's online stores if you missed out or need more!

We were approached by the lovely Kerstin (of LilliKad Photography) to collaborate with a team of amazing Sydney wedding vendors on this european-feel, minimal wedding inspiration shoot. The concept for the shoot sounded really beautiful to us - minimalistic, feminine, quiet, with an industrial edge. We couldn't wait to see DRIFTWOOD in this styled setting, and we were blown away by how it turned out - it really is a favourite styled shoot for us to have been included in! Taking small moments to breathe, be present, stop time in the whirlwind to be grateful and pause - it's a beautiful concept. Enjoy x

Moving into the "Dream Studio" space, we could finally host workshops in printmaking, have exhibitions and opening nights - and create a community with people who are passionate about paper and wanderlust ideas.

We host a range of printmaking workshops in letterpress (modern and traditional) as well as screen printing and traditional block printing. These are all very hands on, getting inky fingers producing prints - aprons are highly recommended! We wanted to do something a little more dreamy, host a workshop where we all can chat away and drink tea while learning a new skill - something less messy. Since my watercolour hand lettering has become a popular add-on for envelope addressing and place tags, I thought this would make the perfect workshop. I also use a very handy watercolour brush pen, which I wanted to share with everyone, as I find it's a great tool for beginners.

A few months ago, we contacted Floral Army - two beautiful florists who's floral designs are always an incredible combination of colours and wild elegance - and asked if they could help us make the space beautiful!

And so the Brush Lettering Workshop # 1 was created!

We were so lucky to have Kirsty Russell attend the workshop - a talented Perth photographer who brought along her camera to capture the moments and mood. Check out Kirsty's website for some beautiful, light filled wedding photography and portraits.

Being in Perth, Bali is tantalisingly close as an escape into the sunshine!

Rob and I actually just booked a cheeky week holiday there to escape the winter cold. For so many Perth couples, as well as brides from all over Australia it's a perfect destination wedding location.

We were really excited to meet the lovely Natalie from Paper Diamonds who is a super talented stylist and all round sweetheart living and working in Bali, when she popped back to Perth. Her attention to detail and finesse was amazing and we would be so happy to recommend her to anyone planning a wedding in Bali! She knows all the best local vendors from lighting to florals, is incredible organised, has a beautiful style, and loves stationery.

Here's some images shot in dreamy, leafy Bali under the careful curation of Natalie with her top vendors. Spot our letterpress invitations, menus and water-colour brush lettering for envelopes and table numbers.
